SearchField clear button no longer shows an unexpected focus ring

When a SearchField contains text, keyboard or pointer focus can move from the text editor to its internal clear button. This displays a prominent focus ring around the clear cross and interrupts the field’s editing focus. The clear affordance should remain clickable without acting as a separate focus target.
